LeBron's James Wears Heat Jersey Gets Kicked Out of Cleveland Indians Game (Video_

WEWS--"Cleveland fans have not been quick to forgive LeBron James for the way he left his hometown team for the Miami Heat, and Wednesday night’s Indians game is the most recent example of the city’s disdain for its former “King.”

A fan wore James' new Miami Heat jersey to the Indians and New York Yankees game, and he had to be escorted out of Progressive Field by security.

He taunted Cleveland fans with the jersey as he made his way to the left-field bleachers, which then resulted in boos and vulgar chants from the Indians fans. The woman with him was also taunting the crowd, and she was seen giving fans an obscene finger gesture as they were escorted out of the bleachers.

Hundreds of fans were booing, shouting and snapping pictures before security led him out of the stadium. A number of fans also followed him out to the gate, chanting the entire time."

Larry Bird on Lebron James Move from Cleveland to Miami

(Via Insidehoops.com)

"That's why we have free agency," he told Dakich. "When you get an opportunity to get an open market, anything can happen. I'm like a lot of people. I'd like to have seen LeBron stay in Cleveland but his desire was to go play with some great players and try to win championships. You've got to do what's best for yourself. He's a very, very talented young man, a great basketball player and he wanted to go play with Wade and Bosh. He had the ability to do that and he did it.

"I remember back in my days, I'd rather play against Earvin Johnson than play with him," he said. "I know he's a great player and you always want to play with the best but I just loved to compete against him. He's a guy I always compared myself to. I'd rather stay in Boston and let him stay in L.A. and just compete every year in the Finals. That's what made me a better player. It would've been too easy if we played together."

Facebook on The Big Sceen: The Social Network - Trailer

(Billboard)

"You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies." That's about as ominous as a tagline can get for a movie about Facebook, but the just-released trailer for "The Social Network" -- which features the movie's co-star, Justin Timberlake, and a cover of Radiohead's "Creep" -- does a fine job of selling the drama.

"The Social Network" tells the story of how Facebook went from a college startup to essentially the only way that old friends keep in touch. Justin Timberlake plays Napster founder-turned-Facebook president Sean Parker, who gives site creator Mark Zuckerberg (played by Jesse Eisenberg), some shrewd financial advice. "A million dollars isn't cool. You know what's cool? A billion dollars," he says.

As Facebook grows in popularity and wealth, Zuckerberg is confronted with life-changing decisions. The trailer finds one of his friends asking, "They're saying we stole the Facebook website, so did we?," alluding to a controversy that remains to this day. Adding to all the tension is a spooky cover of Radiohead's classic song "Creep" by Scala & Kolacny Brothers, a girls choir from Belgium.

"The Social Network" hits theaters on Oct. 10 and was directed by David Fincher, who gained music video notoriety with his visuals for Madonna's "Vogue" and George Michael's "Freedom '90," but whose more recent claim to fame is directing dramas like "Fight Club" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." Will a film about status updates, friend requests and privacy rights be as riveting as those films? Stay tuned.

That Was Fast! Christina Milian & The-Dream Separate

The Dream w/ Melissa Santiago(l) Christina Milian (r)

Just as fast as they got married, Christina Milian & The-Dream has split.

After racy photos of The Dream racy photo with this assistant Melissa Santiago in the Caribbean popped up, the couple are now getting a divorce.

Dream's rep told Us Weekly " "Terius 'The-Dream' Nash is saddened to announce that his marriage to Christina Milian was unsuccessful. The couple reached this decision in late 2009, but decided to keep the news private in efforts to protect their baby daughter Violet. They ask for consideration and respect for their family moving forward."

The pair eloped Sepetmeber 2009 and had their daughter Violet in March 2010.

Wait, they got married in September of 2009, but they were done by the end of the year?

That's really strange , what do you guys think?

Me, Roland Martin and Lebron James

Roland Martin wrote an interesting piece on Lebron James, but being that I live in Akron, Ohio,  I decided to write a response:

Hey Roland, my name is Kevin Lockett I'm from Akron, Ohio.

All of us here watched Lebron grow up as ball player become a father, MVP and one most beloved atheltes in Ohio and around the world. But here's the thing. I understand there is no loyalty in sports and just because we watched play him in Ohio, doesn't mean he owes us anything.

However, if you are a true business man, you have to man enough to talk to your boss, especially if he was calling you all day to talk to you before "The Decision" on ESPN and weeks prior to the show.

Better yet, after the Boston Celtics series, if LBJ knew he was leaving Cleveland, he should've told the Cavs "Hey man I enjoyed my seven years, but I'm out", then proceed to show up to his free agent meetings wearing a T-shirt and backpack fooling the Bulls, Knicks, Nets, and Clippers into thinking they had a shot.

I like Lebron as a player, outside of Kobe Bryant, he's the best player in the league, but he had these teams fly in talk to him, when it now it seems like the a plan along was to go to Miami with Wade and Bosh. I can't hate him for going to Miamai, but I don't think billionaires,(i.e the Nets owner who flew in from Europe) don't like being played. By creating this hoax, LBJ might've killed chances of becoming a billonaire.

Do I hope LBJ gets a ring, sure. But what in the process of chasing the ring, what is he going to sacrafice? Legacy? Family? His own soul?

Although Cleveland looks bad for burning his jersey, (we all are not like that, we're just disappointed) and Cavs owner Dan Gilbert might have hurt the team with his open letter, you have to understand Roland, people in Ohio really loved this cat. He was like was President Obama or the Pope in Nikes...but that's all gone now.

(LBJ still hasn't even put out PR friendly move of saying, "Thank you Cavs fans for your support" in the local papers or even say Thanks Cleveland fans on twitter @kingjames (even Allen Iverson would thank the fans of Philly!?!)

So here's to Lebron james on his quest of winning a title on the court, but in the long term, he and his crew still has a lot to learn about the game of business off the court to be truly respected.

Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert Responds To His Critsicsm of Lebron James

In his interview with Sports Illustrated's Ian Thomsen, Cleveland cavs owner Dan Gilbert did admit going overboard promising a title to C-Town fans (" I know I made that crazy promise," but it was more of a rallying cry to get people to rally around that message."), but the Cavs owner may bit a calmer, but does not back down from most of his comments:

"People know what the truth is," Gilbert said. "Because I say it or because I don't say it, people know what it is. All players are not alike. There are players who understand what it's all about. Could there be a few guys who don't want to come, like Chris Bosh? Probably. We're looking for guys who are tough and want to compete.

Dan Gilbert on trying to connect with Lebron before "The Decision"

Gilbert acknowledged that he was unable to reach James in the weeks before he left for Miami. He looks back on it and realizes as a new NBA owner that he didn't appreciate the need to establish firm guidelines from the beginning in his relationship with James.

"I asked [Bulls owner] Jerry Reinsdorf, 'Did certain things happen with Michael [Jordan]? Did he not return your calls?' " Gilbert said. "He said, 'No, that would never happen, never.' I did hear this was very unusual,'' Gilbert said of his inability to communicate with James.

Dan Gilbert On "The Decision" TV Program

"...The last few days when it got set up in Connecticut [to broadcast his announcement], we couldn't figure it out. It was just very bizarre. Why is he going to the Boys & Girls Club in Greenwich, Conn.? We started thinking to ourselves, It doesn't make sense. We can't think he's going to go on national TV and build it up and humiliate and disgrace Cleveland, Ohio, by saying he's leaving. The only way he comes out of this positive is if he announces he's staying, because otherwise he's going to destroy himself. That was our thought process"

How Pat Riley Seduced Lebron James to Join The Miami Heat

(Inside 'The Decision': Miami's coup was a 'surprise' built on long-coveted goal of James, Wade and Bosh By Brian Windhorst, The Plain Dealer)

".....Riley really put the plan into action last November. During a Cavs visit to Miami, Riley arranged a get together with Michael Jordan and James. Jordan, who was in town to do some Nike work with Wade, at the time did not own a majority of the Bobcats.
During the meeting, Riley talked to James about how more modern players should pay homage to Jordan. Riley always had led this effort, retiring Jordan's No. 23 in the rafters at AmericanAirlines Arena even though Jordan never played in Miami.

The Cavs knew about it, and while it seemed like it could be classic tampering, they decided not to make an issue of it -- mostly because the meeting technically wasn't about free agency.

That night, James and Wade staged another strong individual battle. But the Cavs won when the Heat didn't have enough down the stretch, a common problem with Miami's roster last season. After the game, and after seeing Jordan and Riley sitting together courtside, James made an emotional statement on the court that he was going to ditch jersey No. 23 out of respect to Jordan. In fact, he felt all players should stop wearing No. 23.

It was controversial and got headlines. Riley probably didn't care so much about the statement but how his conversation obviously influenced James. It likely gave Riley confidence that he could win James over by playing to his emotions when it came time for free agency. Riley became more dedicated than ever before to trying his grand plan of getting all three stars to South Florida, with poaching James being the grand prize."

No Longer The King of NY: Lebron James Booed at Carmelo Anthony's Wedding

(UK: Daily Mail)
Lebron James was greeted by a round of loud boos from angry New Yorkers as he arrived with his girlfriend Savannah Brinson.

Luckily MTV host Lala, 30, had a much warmed reception as she wed Anthony, 26, yesterday at Cipriani's in New York after a five year engagement.

The newly-weds have a three-year old son together, Kiyan, who served as the ring bearer.

The thirty year old host of MTV's TRL wore a Vera Wang gown, and carried a bouquet of hot pink flowers.

Anthony proposed five years ago with an eight-carat cushion-cut diamond, to which he later added two and a half more carats along with two matching wedding bands, worth about $200,000.

Dan Gilbert's Letter to Cleveland Cavs After Lebron James Departure

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert

NPR Interview: Lauryn Hill (Full Audio: 9 Minutes)

Excerpt from Zoe Chase's Interview with L-Boogie:

(Zoe Chase) I ask her the question her fans have been asking each other for years: Why did you stop putting out music?

(Lauryn Hill) "There were a number of different reasons," she says. "But partly, the support system that I needed was not necessarily in place. There were things about myself, personal-growth things, that I had to go through in order to feel like it was worth it. In fact, as musicians and artists, it's important we have an environment — and I guess when I say environment, I really mean the [music] industry, that really nurtures these gifts. Oftentimes, the machine can overlook the need to take care of the people who produce the sounds that have a lot to do with the health and well-being of society, or at least some aspect of society. And it's important that people be given the time that they need to go through, to grow, so that the consciousness level of the general public is properly affected. Oftentimes, I think people are forced to make decisions prematurely. And then that sound radiates."
