Rihanna Talks Chris Brown and more in Rolling Stone
Rihanna's on if her hit single "S&M" is semi-autobiographical. "Being submissive in the bedroom is really fun," she says. "You get to be a little lady, to have somebody be macho and in charge of your shit. That's fun to me...I like to be spanked. Being tied up is fun. I like to keep it spontaneous. Sometimes whips and chains can be overly planned – you gotta stop, get the whip from the drawer downstairs. I'd rather have him use his hands."

You're Fired! Beyonce Bounces Dad Matthew Knowles
(Via LA Times)
Beyonce's father Matthew Knowles has managed his little girl's rising star since her Destiny's Child days -- but it seems she's a woman now. The pair are parting ways professionally, and Matthew will no longer serve as her music manager.
"I've only parted ways with my father on a business level," the actress and singer told Us weekly, "He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me."
Knowles himself is confident in the wisdom he passed down, calling her a "very, very smart business woman."
Beyonce has yet to choose new management, but has an arsenal of capable folks at her disposal. It doesn't hurt that her husband Jay-Z is arguably hip-hop's biggest mogul. While a follow-up abum to her smash "I Am...Sasha Fierce" is planned, music isn't Beyonce's primary focus this year.
As the Ministry previously told you, she's trying for an Oscar with a lead role in an update of "A Star Is Born," to be directed by Clint Eastwood.
Knowles will focus on the gospel acts at his company Music World Entertainment and managing Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles, according to Pop & HIss.

Mad Men Christina Hendricks Excited Play Lois Lane in New Superman Cartoon
(Via Showbiz Spy)
"The Mad Men actress — who is known for her elegant style — had a very distinct look when she was a teenager and admits it meant her beauty was often overlooked.
“I was a goth and a little punk in high school. I had knee-high Doc Martens, a leather jacket, black, purple and red hair and black lipstick,” Hendricks said.
“So no-one was saying, ‘You beauty! Yeah, get her in the magazines.’ ”
The 35-year-old beauty explained she had a “tough” time at school and chose to keep her head down to avoid getting into fights with her classmates.
“It was a tough high school, although I thought it was quite fashionable. You got a real mix of social and financial backgrounds among the students, which caused tension. There were lots of fights and violence and it was just not a nice place to be,” Christina explained.
“I tried to keep my head down and avoid conflict. The way I looked caused a little bit of conflict but I was really just trying to set myself apart.”"

Elizabeth Taylor: New York Times Obituary
Elizabeth Taylor, the actress who dazzled generations of moviegoers with her stunning beauty and whose name was synonymous with Hollywood glamour, died Wednesday in Los Angeles. She was 79.
A spokeswoman at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center said Ms. Taylor died at 1:28 a.m. Pacific time. The cause was congestive heart failure, her publicist, Sally Morrison, told The Associated Press. Ms. Taylor, who had had a series of medical setbacks over the years, was treated for heart problems at Cedars-Sinai last month.
In a world of flickering images, Elizabeth Taylor was a constant star. First appearing on screen at age 9, she grew up there, never passing through an awkward age. It was one quick leap from “National Velvet” to “A Place in the Sun” and from there to “Cleopatra,” as she was indelibly transformed from a vulnerable child actress into a voluptuous film queen.

Howard Stern Sues Sirius XM Radio Over Stock Payouts
(Via New York Daily News)
"Howard Stern is going after his bosses again, accusing SiriusXM of treating the King of All Media like a peon.
Stern's production company, One Twelve Inc., and his agent, Don Buchwald, Tuesday sued the satellite radio company, charging that it reneged on promised payouts.
The suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, says SiriusXM stiffed Stern on performance-based incentives after he delivered millions more subscribers to satellite radio than ever expected.
"Now that Stern has put the company on the map, brought in millions of subscribers and helped it conquer its chief rival, Sirius has unilaterally decided that Stern has been paid enough," the suit says.
The raunchy radio jock and K-Rock star debuted on Sirius in January 2006, taking a reported $500 million deal to help the then-fledgling satellite radio company take on its bigger rival, XM.
As part of the deal, the suit says, Sirius offered One Twelve a series of stock awards if the company surpassed its subscriber goals in any year of his five-year contract by 2 million or more subscribers.
"Sirius set the subscriber targets high with the idea that if Stern delivered, Sirius would more than recoup its investment in Stern," the suit says. "Stern delivered beyond expectations."
The "Private Parts" star re-signed with SiriusXM for another five years in December.
"Howard forever changed radio and was instrumental in putting Sirius on the map when he first launched on satellite radio," Mel Karzmazin, the SiriusXM CEO said when Stern reupped with the company. "He is one of the few 'one-name' entertainers in the country and our 20 million subscribers are lucky to have him."
The suit says Sirius had under 1 million subscribers when it began courting Stern in 2004 and was running a distant second to XM. The companies merged in 2008, and Stern takes credit for luring 8 million more subscribers than ever expected.
"If not for the dramatic success that Stern had brought Sirius, Sirius would not have been in a position to acquire its rival and the merger would not have occurred," the suit says.
A SiriusXM spokesman did not immediately return a call seeking comment, nor did Stern's spokesman.
Buchwald, Stern's longtime agent, contends Sirius promised him a consulting fee equal to 10% of any compensation paid to One Twelve.
The suit does not specify how much money"

Death of an Underrated Diva: Loleatta Holloway
(Via The Guardian)
Loleatta Holloway, who has died aged 64, leaves behind a legacy as the finest diva in dance music history. The sheer power of the notes her lungs expelled turned mere singing into an emotional tempest, huffing and puffing until she blew the house down.
Her most famous track is Love Sensation, whose vocal line and jazz-inflected pianos were sheared off and airlifted into Black Box's Ride on Time; Holloway successfully sued them for their shameless unauthorised sampling. She smiled more favourably on Mark Wahlberg, reusing its vocal hook when appearing with him on Good Vibrations, and making his Marky Mark take on jacking house surprisingly credible.
Listening to Love Sensation today, or its excellent Shep Pettibone re-edit, the level of emotion is still shocking. Holloway sounds on the brink of madness, romping over a demented melodic topography and constantly unleashing her secret weapon, an almost polyphonic yell that acts as a war cry for love's constant battle. Compare her to, say, Fergie, submerged under digital trickery or colourlessly emoting when not; Holloway is a woman whom you suspect would never meet you halfway on anything.

Adrianne Palicki in New Wonder Woman Costume (Photo)
(Via Starpulse) "
The first image of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman has been released by NBC, and the revamped costume does not disappoint.
Updates to the new costume include skin-tight blue latex pants and silver bracelets (instead of gold ones); but most noticeably are the blue boots instead of the traditional red ones. The new outfit also seems to coincide with the recent comic book update to the costume as well, as seen in artist Don Kramer's artwork for Wonder Woman #607, which came out in February.
The Friday Night Lights star was announced as the star of TV creator David E. Kelley's revamp of the late 70s hit show last month. Palicki also plays Wonder Woman's alter-ego, Princess Diana of Themyscira aka Diana Prince, an Amazonian princess who, in the original series, rescues a fighter pilot and brings him home to America after he crash lands on her home of Paradise Island. Her powers include great strength and agility - the source of which come from a golden belt; and she can deflect bullets with her bracelets. She also carries a golden Lasso of Truth, which, when used on an enemy forces them to tell the truth.
Joining Palicki in the pilot are Elizabeth Hurley, who plays the villainous boss of a pharmaceutical company creating drugs to make people stronger; and Cary Elwes, who will play the CEO of Prince's company."

Howard Stern Talks Allison, Beth O, Artie and Charlie Sheen in Rolling Stone
Stern on Artie Lang: "He said to me recently that he would be willing to come on the air and explain what happened and stuff," says Stern. "I don't even feel strong enough within myself or that I'd be doing the right thing by him, because I don't want to do the wrong thing for Artie. I just want Artie to stay alive."
Stern on his divorce: ""My marriage ending blew my mind." "I was upset that I failed and let down my family, my kids, my ex-wife. It was all very painful."
Stern on post-divorce sex: “After my divorce, I realized, ‘Oh, wow, I can go have sex’. And I was running around, picking up women. Then all of a sudden, it dawned on me that I really didn’t need that much sex. I just wanted somebody with me every minute. I was using women as a surrogate mother.
When I tapped into that, it suddenly became very childish behavior. And really, was it so great f**king every night? They’re using me for my fame, I’m using them for their beauty, and the whole f**king thing seemed empty.”

I Didn't Make The Cut: Ashton Kutcher/Pop Chips Chooses Five Finalists for VP of Pop Culture Gig
I fought a good fight and even though I was packing my bags like Mo Williams did when he got traded from the Cleveland Cavs to the L.A. Clippers, the Kaz man, (Kaz is my nickname), didn't make the cut as Ashton Kutcher's/Pop Chips VP of Pop Culture, (I think that fuzz on my chin hurt my chances).
But much like Susan Lucci before she won the daytime Emmy and Michael Jordan when he finally beat the Pistons, I'll continue to grind on my Music is My Soul blog from Akron to make sure you guys get the best world wide pop culture news around, but best assured, I will be leading some pop culture organization soon.
In the meantime, take a look at the finalists and tell me, which one should be Ashton's VP of Pop Culture.

American Idol: Stefano Langone: Lately (Stevie Wonder/Jodeci)
Stevie Wonder put his soul into it in the early 80s. Jodeci rediscovered it in the early 90's smashed it and Stefano Langone clubbed it on American Idol in the 2011.
