Shane to Rick: They snubbed us again?
Can you really respect an award show where so many of the most of the deserving are routinely snubbed?
In year's past, I would blast Emmy voters for snubbing game changing shows like "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and "The Wire, but now its getting ridiculous.
Show's like "The Walking Dead", "Community" and "Renvenge" were snubbed as were actors Kerry Washington, John Slattery and Madeleine Stowe.
The overlooking for Stowe and "Revenge" were quite shocking because the ABC nighttime soap was one the major water cooler shows on TV last season; Plus what female character was more fun to watch than Stowe's Victoria Grayson, maybe Kerry Washington's Olivia Pope.
However my biggest gripe is with the snubbing of The Walking Dead.
OK its a show about zombies, but its mush deeper than that. There's no way if any of these any voters watched the "Better Angels" episode can't tell me that its just as thrilling as watchin Gus and Walt on Breaking Bad, (unless Peter Dinklage wins again, Giancarlo Esposito should win best supporting act for his role as 'Gus' Fring in "Breaking Bad")
In some ways "The Walking Dead" is the new version of "The Wire".
Because while the gritty urban drama watched its fellow HBO shows like "Sex and The City" and "The Sopranos" garner nominations and awards, AMC's top ranked show has to watch "Mad Men" and" Breaking Bad" get invited to the party with the cool kids.
One of the categories I do find fascinating to watch will be for is for Best Comedy Actor, where Don Cheadle ("House of Lies") Louis C.K.("Louie") were nominated. Now the question is will Emmy voters go outside box and vote for either or go with Big Bang's Jim Parsons again? (The funny thing is the C.K.'s show "Louie" wasn't nominated for best comedy....try figure that one out).
