What happens when have a lead singer who looks like Sinead O'Connor but performs like a 1993 Eddie Vedder with a female band that pushes the sonic sounds of publish rock to banshee proportions?
You get Savages, whom not only had one of the best breakout rock performances this year on Jimmy Fallon (next to only Deerhunter), but their hard rocking ways puts them in good company with Heart, The Runaways, The Go-Gos, Luscious Jackson, The Donnas and other hard charging female rockers of the past.
