Daft Punk Drops “Get Lucky” Ad w/ Pharrell & Nile Rodgers on SNL & Coachella 2013

I love Daft Punk!

With a a few teaser spots on Saturday Night Live and a suprise clip at Cochealls, the EDM pioneers might have spent a few thousand dollars on over  million dollars worth of word of the mouth for their new album.

Take not Justin Timerblake!

Daft Punk Teases New Music During 'SNL'

The best 30 seconds of Saturday Night Live with Kevin Hart as host might have been the two 15 second commercials for Daft Punk.

There I was sitting on my couch, when the sound reminiscent of the Disco band Chic radiated through my rabbit ear TV speakers, (word is Chic's Nile Rodgers worked on their album)

Although my trusted Shazam app called the song "15 Seconds", there were nothing about an album or dates, just a funky rhythm, two split helmets and the words Daft Punk bringing a smile to my face as I rewound
those commercials about 20 times last night!

What's your favorite Daft Punk song?

Yeah or Nay! VH1's Black Ink (Trailer)

Get More: Black Ink Crew

When I heard that VH1 was going to have a show about African American tattoo artists, I was pretty excited. At last I thought,  VH1 might be moving away from drama filled world of bitter ex-wives, b-level rappers, girlfriends and jump offs, oh my!

 Ehhh….not quite.

Where I thought "Black Ink Crew" would follow the model of Miami Ink, where people would told their  stories why they are getting tatted, I immediately got hit with more drama.

It's not like Miami Ink and L.A. Ink, did not have their share of drama with Ami and Kat Von D, but most of the time, the person being tatted was the story; and get this, their stories were touching without anyone throwing a punch or screaming at the top of their lungs.

I'm  sure "Black Ink Crew" will have some touching stories, but I guess VH1 couldn’t help themselves from showing African-Americans, especially women without issues.

"Meet Alex Clare, the voice behind 'Too Close"' (Internet Explorer 9 Song)

(Via USA Today)

"Close" to success: British singer/songwriter Alex Clare's faltering career was revitalized by an unlikely source —Internet Explorer. Clare is the voice of Microsoft's advertising campaign for Internet Explorer 9, which features his hit single Too Close, a melancholy ballad that fuses Clare's soul-tinged vocals with clattering percussion and a dubstep drop. Since the commercial's premiere in March, fans have flooded the Web searching for the mysterious singer behind the "Microsoft dubstep commercial."

...A "commercial" breakthrough: Clare's luck took a dramatic turn with one e-mail. "Last February, I got an e-mail from someone at Microsoft asking permission to use (the song). I said yes, not thinking much more of it. And then it turned into an international hit." In the weeks after the ad's premiere, Too Close sold more than 100,000 digital downloads and made its debut at No. 68 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. "I was sitting in a cinema and the commercial came on during the trailers," he says. "That's when I realized — wow, everyone's going to hear this song." Soon after, Universal Republic signed Clare to a distribution deal that brought Lateness to American audiences in May."
