New! Aloe Blacc - Love Is The Answer (Produced by Pharrell)
Pharrell is definitely in a late 70's/early 80's vibe.
First Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines "paid ode to Marvin Gaye, last week Pharrell's produced track for Jennifer Hudson ( "I Can't Describe") channeled Evelyn Champagne King. Now Pharrell is working with Aloe Blacc, who came on the scene with "I Need A Dollar" from How to Make it in America" (and is currently having international success with Avicii on "Wake Me Up") is back with th Gap Band-ish "Love is The Answer."
Good job indeed N.E.R.D!

In an article from Playboy Magazine, Samuel L. Jackson criticized Kamau's review of Django Unchained. I'm sorry Mr. Jackson, but Kamau doesn't have the "black qualifications" to critique the film? Last he checked, Kamau was still very much a black man. Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell
Floyd Mayweather Jr. Not "Money Mayweather" Stops by Howard Stern
Maybe it's because that Howard doesn't know the Money May character that Floyd becomes before his fights, but even Floyd Mayweather said this was one of his favorite interviews afterwards; Probably because Floyd seemed less guarded and very relaxed taking to Howard, which led to an open, honest and fun interview with much less of the "Pretty Boy" bravado.

Sad... Linda Ronstadt Talks Losing Her Singing Voice to Parkinson's Disease on GMA
(Via Billboard)
"The iconic singer discussed her career and recent diagnosis in a wide-ranging conversation at Manhattan's 92Y on Wednesday. "I just can't make the sounds. … The first note comes out, and then my voice goes into a cramp," Linda Ronstadt told a packed audience at Manhattan’s 92Y Wednesday night.
In a wide-ranging conversation with journalist John Rockwell, the iconic 67-year-old singer spoke about her recent diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, her myriad musical influences and the fact that her condition made it no longer possible for her to sing.
"I miss it every day," she said. "Singing is something I've done since I was 2 years old."
The evening, part of a tour publicizing Ronstadt's recently published book Simple Dreams: A Musical Memoir, was mostly lighthearted and music-oriented, centering on her versatile career in which she sold some 100 million records and won 12 Grammy Awards."

New! Britney Spears - Work Bitch (Produced by Wil.I.AM)
“Work Bitch” was written by Will.i.am and Sebastian Ingorsso (formally of Swedish House Mafia).
‘Work Bitch’ Lyrics
You wanna
You wanna
[Chorus]
You wanna hot body
You want a bugatti
You wanna maseratti
You better work bitch
You want a lamborghini
Sip martinis
Look hot in a bikini
You better work bitch
You wanna live fancy
Live in a big mansion
Party in France
You better work bitch
You better work bitch
You better work bitch
Now get to work bitch
(ahhhh)
Now get to work bitch
(ahhhh)
[Verse 1]
Bring it on
Ring the alarm
Don’t stop now
Just be the champion
Working hard like it’s your profession
Watch out now
‘Cause here it comes
Here comes the smasher
Here comes the master
Here comes the beat, beat
Beat beat to get ya
Now time to quit now
Just time to get it now
Pick up what I’m letting down
Pick up what I’m letting down
[Chorus]
You wanna hot body
You want a bugatti
You wanna maseratti
You better work bitch!
You want a lamborghini
Sip martinis
Look hot in a bikini
You better work bitch!
You wanna live fancy
Live in a big mansion
Party in France
You better work bitch
You better work bitch
You better work bitch
Now get to work bitch
(ahhhh)
Now get to work bitch
(ahhhh)
[Verse 2]
Break it on
Break it down
See me coming
You can hear my sound
Tell somebody in your town
Spread the word
Spread the word
Go call the police
Go call the governor
I bring the trouble
That means the trouble’s on
I make the governor
Call me the governor
I am the bad bitch
The bad bitch you’ll never know
[Bridge]
Hold your hands high
Fingers to the sky
They gon’ try to try ya
But they can’t deny ya
Keep it building higher and higher
Keep it building higher and higher
So hold your head high
Fingers to the sky
Now they don’t believe ya
But they gonna need ya
Keep it building higher and higher
Keep it building higher and higher
Work work work….
Work it out work it out…
You better work bitch
You better work bitch

Inspectah Deck & U-God on on Drake’s “Wu-Tang Forever”
While "Wu-Tang Forever" has caused a stir with Hip Hop fans, Wu-Tang's U-God's had this to say:
“They wanted us to remix it and get on there [so] you gon’ probably hear another one with us on it,” said. U-God. “Meth did his verse—we all did our verses. I wrote my rhyme in probably 15, 20 minutes. We were moving so fast we only had about four hours of studio time. If I had some time to really sit down and get juicy with it, I probably could’ve got juicier with it. But I still do a nice one, I still do a real banger.”

New! Drake - Wu Tang Forever
The tune is cool but if Drake was going to have title like "Wu-Tang Forver", you would expect a RZA beat or something real grimy...If the title was different, I probably would give it a A, but right now its a B+..

I Dig This Song! Jay Z & Kanye West - "Who Gon Stop Me" (Flux Pavilion Sample in Gatsby))
/
I finally saw the Great Gatsby and near the first quarter of the flick as Toby Maguire goes through a dream sequence, there was song with the lyrics "I Can't Stop" playing in background.
I heard the song before in a Mountain Dew commercial featuring Skateboarder Paul Rodriguez, Jr. during the MTV Awards.
The song is Flux Pavilion's I Can't Stop , but version in Leonardo's DiCaprio's Gatsby was was the sampled version Kanye West & Jay Z 's "Who Gon Stop Me" on "Watch The Throne."
I don't care which version it is, I just love that hook!

Diddy Downsizes in 2013 by Holding His Own Pink Umbrella
Remember the good old days of the early 2000's, when a Hip Hop mogul can get guy to be a umbrella holder?
I kind of miss thoe days when Farnsworth Bentley held Puff Daddy's umbrella with sheer determination and will.
However being a shrewed businessman that he is in 2013, Sean Combs realized that moguls stay rich by saving their cash. This means going to Burning Man Festival in Nevada holding your own pink umbrella..with a matching scarf no-less!

"Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Christina Hendricks will not be playing a stripper in Dark Places. Not to worry, though! The Mad Men star's rep confirmed to E! News on Wednesday, Sept. 4, that she will now be playing Patty Davis, the murdered mother of Charlize Theron's Libby Davis character. So just how is Hendricks, 38, going to play the mom of Theron—who's also 38? In flashbacks, of course! Per Deadline (who was first to report the casting news), producers offered Hendricks the role after actress Samantha Morton pulled out."
