Too Risque? Julianne Moore Bulgari Ad Banned In Venice
Another day, another banned, this time in Venice where Julianne Moore billboard for Bulgari handbags was called “inappropriate.”
An advertisement showing a nude woman on a divan is not appropriate for St Mark’s Square,” Venice’selected mayor, Giorgio Orsoni said.
I'm sure what the fuss is about.
Usually Europe is full of risque ads and all Julianne Moore is doing is posing with two lion cubs and couple of handbag in some um, strategic areas. Word is that Moore will be featured in a less risque billboard with Moore fully dressed and modeling Bulgari jewelry.
Regardless what happens, I just hope my wife looks this good at 49 years old!

Vibe Magazine: Diddy Denies Ripping Off Former Artists
In the recent issue of Vibe Magazine, Sean "Diddy" Combs adresses the issue of him allegedly ripping off his talent at Bad Boy Records.
Combs continues: "...You have a short life expectancy. It’s rare to a me, to be a Jay-Z, an LL, a Nas. That shit is a rarity. That’s not even one percent of the rappers. If you look at any artists that were on Ruff Ryders, where they at? If you look at any artist that was on Def Jam at the time we started, where they at? If you look at any artist that was on Roc-A-Fella, Jive, where they at? It’s not like anything was wrong with them. It’s just that you have a four, five-year average in this game. That’s just something I wanted to addres."
Do you think Combs defended himself clearly or is there still truth to the ripping off rumors?

Time Magazine Profile: Traslation Advertising's Steve Stoute
Excerpt taken from "Translation Advertising: Where Shop Meets Hip-Hop"
"Ten years ago, Stoute left the music business — just before it tanked — and jumped into advertising and marketing. He saw an opportunity to navigate the gap that existed between corporate America and the lucrative youth market, an estimated $1.2 trillion sector that companies are eager to tap into but frequently miss the mark reaching.
"Brands don't often speak to young people in a way that is representative of them," says Stoute. "What I do is contemporize a brand." But, he says, "I don't take the brand away from what it stands for. I don't change who they are in order to appeal to the next generation."
....It was Stoute who in 2003 helped steer Justin Timberlake to McDonald's for its "I'm Lovin' It"...put pop singer Gwen Stefani together with Hewlett-Packard in a successful 2005 campaign to promote the company's Photosmart R607 camera," (as well as put Jay-Z with Reebok in 2003).

From Rebels to Sellouts: Sex Pistols Introduces Fragrance
How did it come to this?
The Sex Pistols who spurred the punk movemment back in the 1970's has introduced a fragrance.
Pistols frotman Johnny Rotten collaborated with Etat Libre D’Orange on the fragrance which is describe as having “The Spirit of Punk” in a bottle.
Wait there's more.
“To wear this scent, you must resist tradition, fight conformity, and disregard aromatic conventions. In the spirit of punk, you must be willing to express yourself with abandon. You take risks and you wouldn’t be adverse to creating a little mayhem.”
Now to be fair Rotten can do whatever he wants to make a dollar on his case, a pound; and the to be hinest, the Sex Pistols did not make as much money as the Clash or the pop friendly stykings of Billy Idol or even The Police who started out in the punk scene.
But it is still sad to see a group that once was against the establlshment and now part of it, but wrapped in a flowery, punkish scent.
Sex Pistols: The Fragrance with packaging which looks the inspired by the Sex Pistols’ hit 1977 track, “God Save the Queen album cover, will hit stores nnext month.

Method Man To Sue Insane Clown Posse After Attack at Juggalo Show
(via AllHipHop News)
Method Man is planning to sue rap group ICP (Insane Clown Posse) after being cut on the face at the Gathering of the Juggalos festival this past weekend.
According eyewitness accounts, fans started pelting the artist with objects during a performance with Redman, at which point Method Man was hit in the face with a full beer can.
Although the rapper still managed to perform with a wound that was visibly bleeding, the rapper came out yesterday and said “I'm suing those motherf**kers!”
After Method Man was hit in the face, Redman cursed at the crowd then telling Method Man, "Your face is cut, go take care of that."
But Meth insisted that the show went on replying, "Start the music we're continuing the show, let's f**k these motherf**kers up."
Reality star Tila Tequila who was rumored to be targeted prior to her performance, was also assaulted during the event, when thousands of people chased her off the stage and attacked her trailer as well.
"We paid her before the show and assured her that even if things got out of hand, she could keep the money if she had to leave the stage," Violent J. told TMZ.com.
Tila Tequila, born Thien Thanh Thi Nguyen, is in the process of filing a lawsuit against the Insane Clown Posse and other organizers of the Gathering of the Juggalos.
And there will be no settlements, according to Violent J.
"We're not gonna sit back and give her our money,” Violent J. stated.

GQ 2010: Summer of LeBron Turns into a LeDickens Tale of Two Cities
In years past, LeBron James was pretty good at not over exposing himself.
Well, those days are long gone.
In the September issue of GQ Magazine LBJ talks about Akron, Cleveland, the Miami Heat, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert("I don't think he ever cared about LeBron.") and Charles Barkley ("Charles was probably trying to be funny. It wasn't funny to me.")
The twisting and turning interview goes from James saying that "There's a lot of people in Cleveland we still hate to this day," to "If there was an opportunity for me to return..and those fans welcome me back, that'd be a great story. "
LeBron James "Decision" to go from the Cleveland Cavs to the Miami Heat is very Dickens-like tale of a Akron, Ohio man who made a life changing choice based partly on his teen encounters on the cold streets of Cleveland.
According to James, "Clevelanders, because they were the bigger-city kids when we were growing up, looked down on us (Akron).… So we didn't actually like Cleveland. We hated Cleveland growing up. There's a lot of people in Cleveland we still hate to this day."
This is not to say that James had problems with Cleveland kids growing up, because it was probably true. (To be fair, the rift between between Akron and Cleveland is probably no different than New Jersey and New York or Los Angeles and San Francisco. But Akron and Cleveland people generally do get along.)
However, James is no longer a teen trying to find his place in the world.
James actually got the best revenge of all on those Cleveland kids by not only taking over city and being its favorite son, but also achieving global status.
In fact, becoming “King James” was probably one of the best revenge plans of all time, yet James never saw it that way.
Over his seven years playing in Cleveland, Akronite James routinely showed his disdain for the City of Cleveland by wearing a New York Yankees cap to Cleveland Indians game and embracing Dallas Cowboys players while spurning Cleveland Browns players.
Through it all, Cleveland Cavs fans saw no wrong in their new son and became “Witnesses” to "The King's" Jesus Christ Superstar powder routine before each game.
So when James made his decision, leaving Cavs fans disillusioned and heartbroken, he probably felt his feelings about Cleveland were justified when he saw a few idiots burn his jersey on TV.
Unfortunately for Cleveland Cavs fans, they are ones who are the ones forced to suffer.
Not because of a Yankees cap or a group of guys burning a #23 jersey, but the actions of a few Cleveland kids in the 90's and the choices of a grown man who didn't know how to let go of his past in 2010.

Charles Barkley Blasts Lebron James for "Punk Moves"
Appearing on ESPN Radio 103.3 FM in Dallas/Fort Worth, TNT analyst responded to Miami Heat's Lebron James tweet where he said he was taking "mental notes" of everyone who criticized this summer.
Barkley:
" "I heard about LeBron James’ little tweet…He’s making a list of people that said something bad about him. Well, I want to make sure my name is on that list, because I thought that little one-hour special was a punk move. I thought them dancing on stage was a punk move…Him joining Dwayne Wade’s team was disappointing to me…
"He's got enough people kissing his ass with his family and all the people who work for him," Barkley said. "We don't have to tell him what he wants to hear all the time. That's one of the reasons why ... some of these young guys ... my opinion is he should have stayed in Cleveland.
If he wants to take that as criticism, so be it. He know where I be. I’m easy to find. I’m on TV every week."

Bonus: Katy Perry-Circle The Drain
In her recent interview for Rolling Stone Magazine, there was no mention of Perry's former boyfriend Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis (Travie) McCoy. I guess she waited to talk about him in her last album.
Already being dubbed as her version Alanis Morrisette's "U Oughta Know", Perry's "Circle The Drain" allegedly takes aim at McCoy, calling him a "joke" whose more into drugs than his career.
The irony about this is that Perry is now with a engaged to a former heroin/sex addict Russel Brand. But hey, love is love right?

This month the usual media shy Brinson is featured in the latest issue of Harper's Bazzar, where she talks about variety of topics including number 6's decision to move the family from Akron/Cleveland to play for the Miami Heat:
"Personally, Miami was not my favorite place. Vacationing there is great: You go for three days and get some sun, and it's time to go home," she explains. But the weather helped win her over. "When they told me it doesn't get any colder than 50 degrees, that sold me. ...."It will definitely be an adjustment, but we'll make it."
