Kelly Rowland Bares All for Vibe Cover (Photo)
VIBE: The last album didn’t do well in the States. It did better overseas, particularly in Europe. Do you feel more appreciated in Europe?
Kelly Rowland: No, not really. People still compare me to B over there. I said in an interview recently, 'You know, if you guys would be a little bit more intelligent and ask me about myself we’ll have a much better interview.' You can’t want a story from me and keep asking me about the past.

Playbill: Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith Will Not Leave "Glee"; Chord Overstreet Declines Role
Producer Brad Falchuk at Comic Con:
"It was never our intention or plan to let these people go... They are not done with the show after this season.”
Falchuk also explained that a "Glee" spin-off depicting the three graduates in New York, trying to start careers on Broadway, was discussed but is unlikely.
Although the trio of stars will not be leaving the hit series, Chord Overstreet, who plays Sam Evans and was not picked up as a series regular, has declined his guest role. The actor was offered a deal to return for ten episodes with a possibility to become a regular at midseason, but turned down the offer."

Dave Chappelle Heckled Off Stage at Alonzo Mourning's Summer Groove (Video)
Dave Chappelle was recently booed off of a stage in Miami because of his bizarre behavior. So is he in worse shape than Charlie Sheen?
The crowd at the Alonzo Mourning's Summer Groove charity event was probably really excited to see one of the most beloved comedians of our time performing his routine. Unfortunately, Dave did little more than talk to people in the front row of the audience; stand around; and complain that he was being videotaped by fans, who entertained themselves by booing and heckling him. After being on stage for 46 minutes, he had only told one joke (he even took the time to check his text messages!). Chappelle seemed confused and like he didn't have any material prepared for the event, or maybe he just forgot his routine.

Amy follows now joins the notorious 27 Club, also known as Forever 27, which is a group of musicians who have all died at the age while struggling to cope with fame.
Decades earlier Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Brian Jones all died at 27.
Rolling Stone Jones drowned in a swimming pool in 1969; Hendrix choked to death in 1970 after mixing wine with sleeping pills and singer Janis Joplin suffered a suspected heroin overdose the same year.
Doors star Morrison died of heart failure in 1971."

...The singer was born Amy Jade Winehouse on 14th September 1983 in Southgate, London.
Winehouse has had a troubled life which has included various stints in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.
The singer is thought to have been to rehab four times.
In an interview in 2008, her mother Janis said she would be unsurprised if her daughter died before her time.
She said: 'I've known for a long time that my daughter has problems.
'But seeing it on screen rammed it home. I realise my daughter could be dead within the year. We're watching her kill herself, slowly.
'I've already come to terms with her dead. I've steeled myself to ask her what ground she wants to be buried in, which cemetery.
'Because the drugs will get her if she stays on this road.
'I look at Heath Ledger and Britney. She's on their path. It's like watching a car crash - this person throwing all these gifts away.'

What's your favorite Amy Winehouse song?
Amy Winehouse - Rehab by yafs1925
Via New York Times
"....Instantly recognizable from the heavy makeup and high beehive hairdo she borrowed from the Ronettes, Ms. Winehouse became one of the most acclaimed young singers of the 2000s, selling millions of albums, winning five Grammy Awards and kicking off the British trend of retro soul and R&B that continues today.
Yet from the moment she arrived on the international pop scene in 2007, Ms. Winehouse had an image that seemed almost defiantly self-destructive. In songs like “You Know I’m No Good,” she sang alcohol-soaked regrets of failed romances, and for many listeners the lyrics to the song “Rehab” — which won her three of the five Grammys she took in 2008 — crystallized her public persona. “They tried to make me go to rehab,” she sang, “I said, ‘No, no, no.’ ”

(Via UK Telegraph)
Paramedics discovered her at her north London home yesterday at around 4pm yesterday, but were unable to help.
Her death follows years of widely-publicised addiction to drugs and alcohol, which saw Winehouse fade from the height of her musical success and become more talked-about for her physical decline.
On Saturday night, Winehouse's father, Mitch, a former London black cab driver who launched his own jazz career following his daughter's success, was believed to be travelling back to London from New York. The singer Michelle Gayle, a friend of the family, said that Mr Winehouse was "devastated".
Last night, friends of the star paid tribute to her extraordinary talent. The singer and actress Kelly Osbourne said: "I can't even breath right now I'm crying so hard, I just lost one of my best friends. I love you forever Amy and will never forget the real you!"

Community's Alison Brie and Gillian Jacob Strips Down For GQ ( Photo/Video)
...."Community," now two seasons deep, seemed to figure itself out almost instantly—embracing weird, risky habits like engineering entire episodes as film parodies and building in layers-deep Easter eggs for its devotees. Not to mention the wire-sharp quips traded by the members of the show's lightly dysfunctional study group.
Brie's character, Annie, who protests indecency in a register that conjures a conductor on his tiptoes, couldn't be more of an innocent, fizzy contradiction to the actress. Annie, on "Community": never seen a penis. Brie, in an essay she wrote about deflowering her gay friend: "My vagina would have been his road to salvation!" Which is to say, the girls are willing to embrace the funny in sex. "It's just so deadly serious to each of us but hilarious to everyone else," Jacobs says. "When you're having sex with someone," Brie adds, "it really is similar to putting yourself out there and saying, 'I think this is funny and I hope you laugh.'"

Lea Michele & Chris Colfer To Star in Glee Spin-Off
(Via RumorFix)
" RumorFix has learned exclusively that when Glee stars Lea Michele and Chris Colfer graduate from McKinley high -- they are getting their own spin-off.
Perhaps it will be an updated version of Will & Grace.
A source close to the show tells RumorFix that a storyline this season that featured Lea and Chris performing on Broadway may be part of the new show that will take place in New York.
It definitely would make sense since Lea is a Broadway star having appeared in the original run of Spring Awakening.
While it is unknown exactly what Chris will do, Lea's character Rachel Berry who is in love with Barbra Streisand is rumored to be starring in a reprisal of Funny Girl.
Still no word on what will happen to Corey Monteith. Creator Ryan Murphy's rep tells RumorFix they have no word on a spin-off yet".
What do you think of the spin-off? Personally I'm rooting for a show with a Britney and Santana.

2011 Emmy Nominations Mad Men Leads...Treme Snubbed
Friday Night Lighs |
The Emmy's came out today: There were plent of quality nominations like for the deserving Friday Night Lights, but no major nominations for Lea Michele, "Walking Dead", "Rescue Me", "Community" or "Shameless" (and don;t get me started on "True Blood", much like Biffy The Vampire, this show is virtually ignored by the Emmy voters).
The biggest disappointment was for HBO's Treme and its lead actress Khandi Alexander.
Treme's Khandi Alexander |
Its funny, the Emmy voters love of HBO.
However, "The Wire" with its mostly African American cast was aslso critical favorite every season, yet was routinley snubbed by the Emmy voters
The same thing is happening again with HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" and "Treme".
Both are very good shows, but the the fact that Emmy voters continue to praise highly stylized mob life filled with sex and violence, yet turn its head away from the real life tales of urban life .
In recent year's AMC's Mad Men has replaced The Soprano's as the show with the most Emmy nominations and wins . This year, the 60's inspired show led the way with 19 nominations.
I've always been intrigued by the voters lust for the show.
I dig the Don Draper character and I wrote about my "admiration" of Christina Hendricks a few years ago, but Mad Men is not the ratings juggernaut that its painted to be.
In fact the highest rated show on AMC is actually "The Walking Dead" which averages 3.5 million viewers compared to Mad Men which is around 2.2 million viewers.
Yes, they are different shows, but one would think that the show with the most Emmy wins, would be the highest rated show on cable right?
No, that distinction would be "The Closer", (where its season opener for Kyra Sedgwick's last season opened to 7.2 million total viewers this week), but likeThe Walking Dead, Closer didn't get a nod for Best Drama either.
Like most award shows, the Emmy's are not an exact science..I just wish I could understand voting process better.
Here are the nominations courtesy of EW.com
"It was a tight race to land the most nominations: Mad Men tallied 19, followed by 18 for Boardwalk Empire (including a best actor nod for Steve Buscemi), 17 for Modern Family (including a near sweep of the supporting comedy actor category) and 13 for Thrones.
