"Airplane!" & "The Naked Gun" Tribute to Leslie Neilsen

Woah! Keri Hilson Feat. Rick Ross - The Way You Love Me (Video)

Check out Anita Baker's comments on the Soul Train Awards post about today's  R&B female singers this is exactly what she was talking about.

Does Keri look good, of course. But do you have to do THIS to sell a song? I guess so, if you have limited talent.

Country's Brad Paisley Shouts Out My Chemical Romance on ABC Nightline's Playlist

I'm not a big fan of today's country, I m more of Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers cat with a hint of Faith Hill, Shania Twain and Garth Brooks and a dash of Lady Antebellum. But I was intrigued by Brad Paisley's playlist on Nightline, where he talks about artists and songs that influences. Its an interesting list that  goes from Hee Haw's Buck Owens to My Chemical Romance.

Rolling Stone Playlist: Nas "Hip-Hop's Best Lyricists"

As with the Questlove's Prince list, Nas ranks his best lyrcists in the same Rollin Stone Playlist issue.

In the issue nas said, "When I said 'hip-hop is dead' a few years ago, I felt we'd gotten away from the great wordplay and storytelling," says Nas. "There's a place for the party shit and a place for the gangster shit. I focus on the guys that are always pushing themselves forward."

1. "My Downfall" - Notorious B.I.G., 1997

The lyrics are about how he's acing the shadows of death, despite all of his success, and he's giving it to you in a way that makes it seem so real.

2. "If My Homie Calls" - 2pac, 1991

He's just saying to his boys that he's going to be a friend no matter how big he gets.

3. "Road To The Riches" - Kool G. Rap & DJ Polo, 1989

The way we're rhyming now? He was already doing it then .

4. "A Bird In The Hand" - Ice Cube, 1991

5. "Paid In Full" - Eric B. & Rakim, 1987

6. "I'm Single" - Lil Wayne, 2010

I'm recently divorced, so I feel what he's saying.

7. "Tears of Joy" - Rick Ross, 2010

Ross is at the pulpit here.

8 "The Moment I Feared" - Slick Rick, 1988

It's cinematic. He's at a hip-hop show and ices this girl who played him, then he's in prison getting violated by some dude. This was unheard of.

9. "Empire State of Mind" - Jay-Z, 2009

This song is huge. It sounds like Broadway. It's New York's modern anthem.

10. "Queen Bitch" - Lil' Kim, 1996

At the time, females rappers didn't appeal to the street, but Kim came with the vulgarity, sexuality and gangster shit.

Questlove's Top Ten Prince Tracks in Rolling Stone Playlist Issue

In the recent issue of Rolling Stone magazine, where different artists rank their favorites in diffrent categories, Jimmy Fallon's band director and the leader of The Roots' Questlove ranked his favorite Prince tracks.

Below is Quest's top ten list with his commentary. Agree? Disagree?

What is your top ten tracks by his royal badness?

"Baby I'm a Star" (Live from Landover, Maryland,Purple Rain tour) 1984

His "James Brown on The T.A.M.I. Show doing 'Night Train' " moment. He's the best bandleader of his generation — and if I ever need to prove that to someone, this is my surefire crash course.

"Movie Star" 1986

Prince's best display of humor, quirkiness, self-mockery and a dash of funk. This was originally a demo intended for the Time, but I can't see Morris Day waxing poetic about potato chips like this.

"Irresistible Bitch" 1983 "Tricky" 1984 "Cloreen Bacon Skin" 1983

A three-way tie between songs that share DNA: funky drums and a bass line in the key of A. No way I could separate 'em.

"Little Red Corvette" (12-inch extended version) 1983

A major face-lift: Prince transforms the song into this sweaty funk-out and — sorry, Diddy! — invents the remix.

"Lady Cab Driver" 1982

1999 was the kind of album where you couldn't just bite one chip, and this was the mightiest chip.

"The Bird" (Rehearsal demo) 1983

I'm certain Prince would be chagrined by this list of hard-to-find classics (in his eyes: illegal), but practicing and absorbing this song has shaped many a musician's life, including mine — it was all the college I needed. He builds a groove here from the ground up, note by note. This one shows that even the smallest detail is crucial to a song.

"The Ballad of Dorothy Parker" 1987

If Graham Central Station's Release Yourself and Joni Mitchell's Hissing of Summer Lawns fell in love, got married and had a baby.

"The Sex of It" (Demo for Kid Creole and the Coconuts) 1987

Our hero reflects on his dead-end relationship, feeling like a used piece of meat — but don't cue the strings, because we'd all love for women to just want us "for the sex!" This brings his vulnerability to light.

"How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore" 1983

A bare-bones song that shows off his gospel side (the piano), his soul side (the falsetto) and his jazz side (the way he phrases his ad-libs toward the song's fade-out). This song has wound up on every mope/breakup mix I ever made.

"Erotic City" 1984

This is one of his most popular B sides. It's his ode to P-Funk, and it makes for the perfect counterbalance to its A side, "Let's Go Crazy." It also marks the beginning of him singing as a helium-voiced female character named Camille.

Kobe Bryant: " I Was...Mentored By The Preparation of Michael Jackson”

In a great piece by Yahoo sports Adrian Wojnarowski,  Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant  gives a very raw and impactful look at his NBA past, present and future including how the "King of Pop" and not Michael Jordan was a bigger on him:
"“We would always talk about how he prepared to make his music, how he prepared for concerts,” Bryant said. “He would teach me what he did: How to make a ‘Thriller’ album, a ‘Bad’ album, all the details that went into it. It was all the validation that I needed – to know that I had to focus on my craft and never waver. Because what he did – and how he did it – was psychotic. He helped me get to a level where I was able to win three titles playing with Shaq because of my preparation, my study. And it’s only all grown.

“That’s the mentality that I have – it’s not an athletic one. It’s not from [Michael] Jordan. It’s not from other athletes.

“It’s from Michael Jackson
