(From Mashable)

The Walt Disney Company has announced it will acquire Marvel Entertainment, Inc. in a stock and cash transaction worth 4 billion dollars.

Disney will pay Marvel shareholders a $30 per share, plus approximately 0.745 Disney shares for each Marvel share they own, based on the closing price of Disney on August 28, 2009. What makes this deal huge, as far as content goes, is the fact that under the terms of the deal, Disney will acquire ownership of not only Marvel itself, but also over than 5,000 Marvel characters.

Ike Perlmutter, Marvel’s Chief Executive Officer said that “Disney is the perfect home for Marvel’s fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses.”

“This transaction combines Marvel’s strong global brand and world-renowned library of characters including Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four and Thor with Disney’s creative skills, unparalleled global portfolio of entertainment properties, and a business structure that maximizes the value of creative properties across multiple platforms and territories,” said Robert A. Viral Buzz: The 'Glee' Cast Does Kanye West's 'Gold Digger'

Welcome to viral buzz for the fall television season as the cast of Fox's Glee (which premieres Sept. 9th) does a rendition of Kayne West and Ray Charles's "Gold Digger".

The song is pretty good, but I can only imagine how many performing arts teachers telling their students that can't do Young Money's "Every Girl".

True Blood Music: King Britt w/ Sister Gertrude Morgan-New World in My View

HBO's "True Blood" continues to build on its ratings with 5.33 million tuning in last week, (in contrast "Mad Men had 1.9 million viewers tuning in at A&E) .

As the show the closed last week as Bill sees the arm of woman with blood dripping down the side, "New World in My View" King Britt and Sister Gertrude Morgan over the credits.

Even if you don't like Vampire stories, True Blood still has you the ability to pull you in.

Melanie Fiona Live @ SOB's in New York

Melanie Fiona can sing

Melanie Fiona is sexy

Melanie Fiona should be played on every urban video and radio program from coast the coast...Yet,like many coa-coa hued sirens, she is fighting to get some respect.

In this exclusive clip, Ms. Fiona performed several songs off her debut album, The Bridge, including the hit, "Give It To Me Right" at SOB's in New York City.

Mariah Carey - I Want to Know What Love Is 2009

From her forthcoming album "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel", Mariah Carey once again reaches in the 80's vault and pulls "I Want To Know What Love is" by Foreigner.

The song was a monster hit back in the day and although Mimi's rendition is really, really good, its hard to top the grit of the original.

Recent Photo of Former Kidnapped Victim Jaycee Lee Dugard

Jaycee Lee Dugard was abducted in 1991 at the age of the 11 as she was walking to a bus stop in South Lake Tahoe. Yesterday, the now 29 year old Duggard was found with the people who abducted her, including the man Phillip Garrido who allegedly had the two children with the victim.

By looking at the picture, Dugard appears to be fine, but behind that smile, who knows that the mental and physical trauma Dugard endured during her captivity.

Aubrey O'Day on Wendy Williams

The former Danity Kane didn't say anything too controversial this time (I perform comment here and Hiedi Montag comment there)..but hey she looks good.

Q-Tip on Ellen DeGeneres

I missed the abstract one, when this episode in February, but Ellen recently repeated a show where Q-Tip perfromed "We Fight/We Love" with a smidgen of The Jackson's "Heartbreak Hotel" mixed in.

Its sad that Off of Q-Tip's album "The Renaissance" didn't garner more attention, but its never too late to download or buy the album to hear one of Hip Hop's greatest talents.
