For the past few years, some of the most soulful singers has come from the UK (Amy Winehouse, Estelle, Adele, Duffy), but Michigan's Diane Birch with her Carol King type vocals and early 70's vibe, (which is due in part to soul legend Betty Wright who worked on her album "Rewind"), Ms. Birch is by far one of my favorite artists of 2009.
