Kanye West was wrong to bum rush Taylor Swift on Stage at the the VMA's, but to be honest, when she won best female video, I said WHAT? Not only did Swift beat out Beyonce, but she also leapfrogged over Pink and Lady Gaga. West will catch heat for a long time for dissing country princess Swift, but this also says that MTV awards is now just as political as the Grammy's .
The only real disappointment was that Russell Brand really didn't bring anything to the table. He's usually pretty funny on talk shows, but when it comes the VMA's he has more misses than hits.
Psst...., just between you and mean, MTV probably loves the controversy. Its been a while since VMA's had something that made headlines the next day. So even though publicly the former video channel is pro-Tayor Swift, in actuality, they are ecstatic that people will be tuning into the repeats of the award show.)

Before all heck broke loose, Madonna made a moving speech about her friendship with Michael Jackson, followed by a stellar dance routine of some of Jackson's best moves. Janet Jackson ended things by dancing with her brother with video remix of their hit "Scream".
Lady Gaga-Paparazzi
If there was an artist that is few decades late it is Lady Gaga. Showing the the type of theatrics that would've made David Bowie, Freddy Mercury , Bette Midler and Rocky Horror picture show fans proud, Gaga is a throwback when 1970 performances were built on theatrics, strong singing and drama and not just dance steps, auto tunes and pyrotechnics.
Pink-Sober
Flying in the air with the greatest of ease, Pink twirled around the MTV audience with death defying skill. Its a shame, she really receives her due as a fantastic artist.
Beyonce -Single Ladies
Its the land of the "Single Ladies"! Campy, but fun, Beyonce stretched out her hit single ladies into a chorus line of lovely ladies telling guys to "Put a Ring on it".
Jay-Z & Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind
B's husband popped up with Ms. Keys and performed a crowd pleasing performance of Empire State of Mind (New York). Um, where did Lil Mama come from?
Beyonce & Taylor
After winning award for "Video of Year", Beyonce brings up Taylor Swift to finished her acceptance which was interrupted by West. The interesting thing is that MTV could have done this earlier by letting Swift finish the speech after the West incident. But instead they MTV cut to a commercial.
