Tragic! Lousiville's Kevin Ware’s Breaks Leg Against During Elite 8 (Video)

"Louisville guard Kevin Ware has a broken right leg after landing awkwardly when he tried to block a shot by Duke guard Tyler Thornton.

Replays showed that Ware's lower right leg appears to snap as he lands from a lengthy leap to contest the shot. A video of the play is attached below (warning, images are graphic).

The injury occurred with 6:33 left in the first half. Thornton's shot was good, cutting Louisville's lead to 21-20 at the time. Louisville was leading at the half, 35-32.

The game was delayed almost 10 minutes as trainers wrapped Ware's lower right leg, put him on a backboard and lifted him onto a stretcher to be taken off the court."

Columbus Dispatch: "Urban Meyer to be next Ohio State Football Coach"

"Two well-placed sources at Ohio State University confirmed for The Dispatch this morning that Urban Meyer will be announced next week as the next head football coach of the Buckeyes.

But the sources also said final terms for a deal – such as length of contract and financial remuneration – have not been decided, despite recent reports to the contrary. Also, the sources said that though interim head coach Luke Fickell has not been in the loop, he will be taken care of when or if Meyer accepts the job. In what capacity, the sources weren’t sure."

Sports Illustrated: "Ignorance" Led to JimTressel's Fall at Ohio State University

The character traits that have made Jim Tressel a successful football coach and a beloved figure in Ohio are numerous and frequently cited. Former NFL coach Tony Dungy has praised Tressel's "integrity" and said he is the kind of man you'd want your son to play for. Eddie DeBartolo, the former 49ers owner, has said that Tressel's "steady" demeanor and knack for relating to young men reminded him of Hall of Fame coach Bill Walsh.
