Mess in Browns Town :Kokinis lost power struggle with Mangini

"Kogini/Mankinis era over after only 8 months"

What started out as a dream turned into a nightmare for Browns GM George Konkinis, who was fired from the Cleveland Browns earlier, even though Browns owner Randy Lerner told Peter King that Konkinis was not fired, ( if this is case, why was he escorted out of the Browns facility on Monday or better yet, where is he??)

According to Don banks of SportsIllustrated.com, when Browns dictator, err coach Eric Mangini swayed his friend George Kokinis to come from the Baltimore Ravens to their GM, Konkinis thought he and the former New York Jets coach were going to be a team, like the New England Patriot's former tandmen of coach Bill Belichick and GM Scott Pioli.

But while Mangini's former idol Belichick did at times listened to Pioli, all personnel decisions went through Mangini, his including many New York Jets who are now part of the Browns and the recent trade of wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the Jets.

While Mangini was directing the Browns towards a 1-7 record , GM George Koninis was basically:

A man with no position.

A man with now say.

A man with power, who ultimately paid the price for a coach who for some reason, still keeps his job
