Vivica Fox Tears Up When Asked About Her Break-Up With 50 Cent

Diddy to provide free transport on New Year’s Eve

LONDON - Music mogul Puff Diddy is helping revellers ring in the New Year safely by providing free transportation services in New York and Las Vegas.
The rapper is handing out thousands of subway passes and vouchers redeemable for taxi rides in the Big Apple and Sin City as part of his Safe Rides program, which he launched last year, reports contactmusic.com.

“New York stands as the world’s icon for a New Year’s Eve celebration and Las Vegas is the biggest party destination in the country. By bringing this program to both of these great cities we will continue to show the rest of the country that a sophisticated holiday celebration doesn’t end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely,” he said.

The coupons will be distributed on New Year’s Eve.

Teddy Riley Speaks on Charges of Child Abuse

(Via UDub News)

Days after being accused of assaulting his teenage daughter producer Teddy Riley is speaking out against the charges that have been levied against him. In a prepared statement to TMZ Riley said “I love my daughters, but I will not allow my children to disrespect me in my home. Contrary to what I have been accused of, I would never beat my children. Perhaps, I should have been a stronger disciplinarian as they were growing up.

I worked very hard so that my children would want for nothing. In hindsight, I see that it was a mistake to give them everything they wanted so that they could have the childhood I never had. Unfortunately, they have taken me, and the privileged life I have given them, completely for granted.”

Flavor Flav + Autotunes = " I’ll Never Let You Go"

Love Flav, but Maybe this what Jay-Z had in mind when he made "D.O.A. (Death to Autotunes)

Decade of the Aughts: Top 30 TV Shows (Plus one) (2000-2009)

1. The Wire
(Gritty, real, authentic, everything you want in a TV drama was here in this HBO classic. Unfortunately Emmy voters fawned over the very well written, but very unrealistic portrayal of a mob boss talking to a shrink than the real life social/economic, political, media and educational implications of the drug trade in Baltimore.)

2. Chapelle Show (This is the show that Richard Pryor wanted to do.... Dave where are you?)

3. 24 (No show kills off more characters, yet keeps you on the edge of your seat of your set every season than “24”.But could the show continue without Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland)?

4. Girlfriends
(Much like the “The Wire”, “Girlfriends, never got their due from the Emmy voters. Sure, they might have started off as a sexy African American version of “Sex in The City”, but with each, the show and its cast (Persia White, Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Jill Marie Jones, Reggie Hayes) evolved into one of the most underrated programs of the decade (Psst..if someone knows Jill Marie Jones, tell her to Twitter me.))

5. Lost (Please don't have a St. Elsewhere/Seinfeld/Sopranos ending...Please!)

6. Soul Food
(Before Showtime was the home for “Dexter” and “Weeds”, the struggling cable outlet was home for fantastic niche dramas like “The L Word”, “Resurrection Blvd”, “Queer as Folk” and “Soul Food,” which is arguably one of the best family dramas of all time. Inspired by the film, “Soul Food” proved that dramas featuring African-Americans could work. Its a shame that Showtime has dropped their focus on minorities dramas, because the audience is still there... unfortunately the execs are not listening.)

7. True Blood (Sex , vampires ,crazy plot lines and a romance between Bill and Sookie, what more do you need?)

8. Nip/Tuck (Sex , plastic surgeons, crazy plot lines and a bro-mance between Sean and Christan, what more do you need?)

9. The Sopranos (Great show, but show wasn't the same after Big Pussy was killed off).

10. Scrubs
(“Scrubs” is a lot like the show “Wings” back in the 1980's. Never appreciated, yet it lasted for years favorite. While critics and the Emmy voters fawn over ratings challenged sitcom “30 Rock”, the bro-mance between Turk and JD continues to thrive.)

11. Everybody Hates Chris
(When “The CW” decided to focus their programming on teenage girls (Where are you “Beautiful Life”?) , they canceled one of the funniest shows on TV. Chris Rock's take on his growing up in Brooklyn in the 1980's was laugh out loud funny and gave viewers fond family memories of a break dancing era gone bye.)

12.Buffy/Angel (Holdovers from the 1990's, today' s vampire phenomenon started with these classic shows).

13. Alias ( I love Sidney Bristow!)

14. PTI
(a sports show on the list? Why not! The fast paced program on ESPN is sure delight for sports fans who want their info quick with a lot of humor. Journalists turned TV hosts Tony Kornhieser and Michael Wilbon are this decades' Oscar & Felix (The Odd Couple)...only with a lot less hair.

15. American Idol (The reality TV boom started here.)

16. Grey's Anatomy (Chandra Wilson (Bailey) deserves an Emmy.)

17. Arrested Development (Underrated cast, underrated show.)

18. Glee
(Nerds, band geeks, and show tune freaks unite! From the team that brought you Nip/Tuck, Glee is a perfect melding of melodrama, Hip Hop and Babara Streisand. Who knew a mash-up of Usher's “Confessions” and Bon Jovi's “It's My Life” would be so cool?)

19. The Simpsons (Consistently funny since the 1980's.)

20. Entourage (It's a shame that Turtle lost Jamie Lynn Sigler on the show AND in real life..sucks for you bruh.)

21. The Shield/NYPD Blue (Were there every two scarier, but endearing cops on TV than The Shields Vic Mackey (Michael Chiklis) and Blue's Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz).)

22. Rescue Me (From the ashes of Denis Leary's failed cop dramedy “The Job” on ABC came one of the best shows on TV. Hey Emmy voters its time to give Callie Thorne (Sheila) an award!)

23. Dexter/Weeds (The aughts finally brought Showtime out of HBO's shadow.)

24. Boston Legal (The cast changed every year, but outside of the bro-mance of Sean & Christan on "Nip/Tuck" and Turk &  JD on "Scrubs", who was better than Denny Crain and Alan Shore.)

25. Friends (The show's finale in 2004 was watched by 52.2 million...those days are long gone.)

26. Mad TV (This laugh out loud show is now off the air, yet “Saturday Live Night” is still on the air....how is this possible? ??

27. Family Guy (Best story of the decade. Canceled in 2001. Found new life on cable and DVD's. Revived in 2004 and is now of the best shows on TV...but the jury is still out on the “Cleveland Show”.)

28. Tavis Smiley /Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
(The aughts brought a a slew of talking heads (hello Anderson Cooper and Keith Olberman), including Smiley who brought a needed ethnic voice to the talk circuit and Ferguson whose comedic timing and lewd advances makes late night a guilty pleasure.)

29. Kevin Hill
(Before Taye Diggs finally found a home on “Private Practice” and Christina Hendricks, sauntered her sexy bod to “Mad Men”, this lost law show on the WB, had a lot of heart and great looking clothes. Hey Taye, let me use your stylist!)

30. Passions/Port Charles

(These quirky soap operas are gone now, but there was point during this decade, where you could see vampires and werewolves on ABC and monsters, witches and midgets on NBC (Still miss you Timmy). While “Passions” was great for good slaps in the face a strong multicultural cast and over the top story lines, the blood sucking love story between vampire Caleb (Michael Easton) & everyday girl Livvie (Kelly Monaco) on Port Charles” was just as compelling to watch as Bill and Sookie on “True Blood” or anything you would see in the “Twilight” movies.)

31. Flavor of Love (Sure Flav's show was trashy, but was it any worse than “The Bachelor”?)

Jimmy (Bruce Willis) is the veteran detective whose missing collectible is his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, and Paul (Tracy Morgan) is his "partner-against-crime" whose preoccupation with his wife's alleged infidelity makes it hard for him to keep his eye on the ball.

U h Oh! Coming soon TMZsports.com

According to the sports blog Sports by Brooks TMZ is planning to launch a sports website called TMZSports.com.

TMZ founder Harvey Levin and Warner Brothers recently purchased domain name, which can't be good for atheletes.

While entertainers are pretty much used to tabloids being in their business, athletes are not use to a lot of scrutiny outiside of the playing field.

Remember the old days when Sean Penn use to push and fight with the paparazzi?

I have a feeling those days might be back soon, but this time with a swoosh.

Do you think TMZsports.com is a good idea?

(R.I.P) Faster Kill Pussycat [featuring Brittany Murphy] By Paul Oakenfold

Rest in Peace to the lovely and talented Brittany Murphy.

( Via MTV)

Brittany Murphy may have been known primarily as the star of such movies as "Sin City," "Clueless" and "Just Married," but when the 32-year-old actress died suddenly Sunday morning, she also left behind a great appreciation for music.

From mysterious appearances on hip-hop albums to covers of Carly Simon songs, from flirting with Janis Joplin to providing the pipes for a penguin, Murphy showed she had a potential for a music career that, unfortunately, was never fulfilled.

Alvarez uploads the film on a Thursday and by Monday his inbox was filled with totally full of emails from Hollywood studios. In the end Alvarez pocketed: A $30 million deal with Sam "Spiderman" Raimi's Ghost House Pictures. Cool deal!

ABC News: Tiger Woods' Alleged Mistresses Cash In

(ABC.com) The U.K. tabloid News of the World on its Web site promises "big bucks for tips, stories, pictures and videos. Buy a new kitchen, put the money towards a new car or treat your family to a holiday -- your story could be worth a small fortune!"

Some of the women who claim to have had affairs with golfer Tiger Woods are earning six-figure sums to sell their steamy stories to the tabloids.
(ABC News Photo Illustration)The willingness of media outlets to pay up for celebrity dirt has caught the attention of Tiger Woods' alleged paramours, some of whom are brokering six-figure deals in the U.S. and Britain, selling the steamy details of their reported romances to the highest bidder, an insider said.

"Mistresses were being offered between $100,000 and $200,000 to talk to the British tabloids and American magazines," said an insider who helped one purported paramour sell her saucy story to a U.K. tabloid.

Ricky Gervais Interview on 60 Minutes

All around funny man and creator of The Office (UK) Ricky Gervais gave a very revealing interview on "60 Minutes", where he told a stunned Lesley Stahl that he was embarrassed by his own wealth.

Gervais is a working class guy, so when he look at the money he makes versus that of a nurse or a brick layer, I can see where embarrassment can settle in. Maybe this is the reason why Ricky Gervais connects with his audience so well.

Although he he is quite wealthy on the many worldwide incarnations of "the Office", Gervais is still one of them.

Maybe not economically, but in spirit.

Erykah Badu Returns With "New Amerykah Part II" on February 23rd

(Wall Street Journal blog)

The sound of the 11-track long “New Amerykah Part II” is a throwback to her 1997 debut, “Baduizm,” with a more acoustic feel than the digital one she favored on her last album, 2008’s “New Amerykah Part 1: 4th World War.” The topics too, are a stark contrast to her last release.

“’New Amerykah Part 1′ was me looking at what was going around me politically, socially,” Badu said. “['New Amerykah Part II'] was looking at what was going on inside of me and other women.” Badu’s personal life since her last release has had some dramatic changes, including the birth of a baby girl in February of this year.

“New Amerykah part II” features long-time collaborator ?uestlove of the Roots, who plays all the drums on the album, and Roots keyboardist James Poyser. One of the album’s standout tracks, “Out of My Mind Just In Time (Undercover-Over-Lover)” is a bare-bones duet between Badu and Poyser.

Golf Digest Sticks To January Cover with Tiger Woods

According to Entertainment Weekly, Golf Digest will go ahead with its scheduled January cover with Tiger Woods and President Barack Obama entitled: 10 Tips Obama Can Take From Tiger. (Here's a tip, don't cheat, if you do cheat, keep the number under double digits).

The article includes this paragraph " Woods is a good role model ... because he has always been able to pull himself together after setbacks." "Woods never does anything that would make himself look ridiculous."

O.K, you can stop laughing now.

The Golf Digest is in a weird spot because scandal or not, Woods is the PGA and if they alienate Woods, then will probably no longer have access to him. But if this was any other athlete, like Terrell Owens or Allen Iverson, magazines like "Sports Illustrated" or "Men's Fitness" probably would have axed that cover and article.

I wonder how President Obama feel about being on the cover with a guy who may or may have slept more than 10 women, including porn stars and escorts. The White House can not be pleased.

What do you think?

Should Golf Digest keep on cover as is or actually covered what's going on with golf's top draw?

Here's an excerpt:

“My album covers are not sexual at all, which was an issue at my record label. I fought for months, and I cried at meetings. They didn’t think the photos were commercial enough…The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself.”

....Tre Pound said he frequently incorporates socially aware themes into his music, but he had never made an environmentally aware rap song until he signed up to compete in Grind for the Green’s (G4G) Eco-Rap battle in August. He ended up winning the competition, earning a $1000 prize and studio time, by outpacing several other contestants with his eco-friendly flow during G4G’s second annual free concert at the Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco.

Pound is just one voice in the growing number of youth voices engaged in community organizing for social change. Millions of young people around the world participate in social activism. According to Wiretap magazine, there are more than 600 youth-led community organizations currently creating green jobs, removing toxic waste, combating corporate pollution and fighting against violence in their communities.

Glee (Fall Finale): "Sectionals" Season 1 Episode 13

After last week's gripping episode, If you like even more revelations, fights, mean-spiritedness, triumph and music from "Dream Girls" and Babara Streisand, this episode of the Glee was the one to watch...Unfortunately, Glee will not be back until April 2010?!?!

I don't think that's a good move. There are people who either missed some episodes or maybe was late to he show and just like "V" and "Flash Forward", Fox is hoping the audiences will return in the spring. I'm sure the audience will return, but why can't Fox air some repeats in the mean time.

Given EB's track with rappers (Andre 3000, Common, D.O.C., Jay Electronica), I hope Lil Wyane won't be baby daddy number 3? He just had babies with actress Lauren London and singer Nivea this year!

But you know Erykah is a sexy gal, I think its time for me to dust off my old B-Boy skills.

Dancers Noelle Marsh and Nathan on Ellen

I have a great respect for dancers.

When I went to college, one of my best friends (Broadway's Monica Patton) was a dancer.

I always enjoyed the beauty, the pain, the pure athleticism on how they can move their bodies.

So imagine my surprise when I tuned into see Scrub's Zach Braff on Ellen, when I saw "So You Think You Can Dance" former contestants, Noelle Marsh and Nathan Trasoras perform.

I've always been more of a "Dancing With he Stars" watcher than "SYTYCD", but after watching this duo dance to Maxwell's "Pretty Wings", I was left wondering, how did these two get bounced?????

Bryant Gumble Annouces he Had Lung Cancer on Regis & Kelly

(Via Cubuzz)

Bryant Gumbel is being treated for lung cancer, the former Former Today show anchor explained on Live! With Regis & Kelly Tuesday morning, after being asked to dance.

The sportscaster and TV host, 61, said that he had surgery last month to remove a malignant tumor in his chest. According to Gumbel, part of his lung was removed, and he will be seeing his surgeon next week.

“They opened up my chest; they took a malignant tumor, part of my lung and some other goodies,” he said. “The pathology on most of the stuff came back benign but enough aggressive cells had escaped the tumor that it warranted some treatment.”

“We had told a few people, we told my family, obviously. I even kept it from my staff at Real Sports. So I’m okay for the time being,” he said. “I’m hoping they greenlight me to play golf again.”

Blake Lively a Winner on Saturday Night Live

I haven't been a fan of Saturday Night Live, since Will Ferrell left and Darrell Hammonds was beginning to be used a temp, however I still tune in, if I am interested in the guest or the musical talent.

After her first turm as host on SNL, "Gossip Girl's" Blake Lively might rival Justin Timeberlake as their latest secret weapon.

I always thought that Lively had more talent than her current GG status on The CW and I was right. Although SNL's writing is still poor, Livley's ability to to do characters stood out, especially in "Gossip Girl Long Island", the unfunny "Potato Chip (but she was good), the hoodish "Virginca" that would've made Maya Rudolph proud and the now controversial "Tiger Accident" sketch, where she played Woods' wife Elin Nordegren.

In a few years, Lively's "Gossip Girl" contract will run out, however with her good looks and strong comedic timing, Blake Lively could very well follow in the successful footsteps of Sandra Bullock, Meg Ryan, Julia Roberts and Rene Zelwegger on the silver screen.

"Tiger Woods Accident"(with Kenan Thompson)

"Gossip Girl L.I." (That Blake Lively sure can wear a dress)

"Virginaca" (After all this time, it is disturbing that Kenan Thompson is still playing female roles. Thompson is a funy guy, but maybe its time to leave and work with writers who can broaden his comedic chops.)
