The Black Keys and Damon Dash creates "Blakroc"!

On Black Friday, Akron, Ohio's own Black Keys released another ambitious album, but this time with a twist, rappers.

After hooking up DJ/producer Danger Mouse on the album "'Attack And Release", the blues influenced duo met with former Jay-Z business partner and Roc-a Fella founder Damon Dash in May. Dash told the pair that he was a fan and he wanted to make an album with them.

After the talk, singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Pat Carney locked themselves away from two days and knocked out instrumental eight tracks.

Dash took the tracks and in no time, Mos Def, Jim Jones, The RZA enthusiuaticlly joined the project, followed by Q-Tip, Raekwon, Pharoahe Monch, Ludacris, M.O.P.'s Billy Danze, Nicole Wray, and an unused a capella track by deceased rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard.

The combination of some of Hip Hop's best lyricists and The Black Key's bluesy riffs turned into the critically acclaimed album "Blakroc"
